Smoke Chamber Cleaning

The smoke chamber is the funnel-shaped transition above the firebox and damper that gathers smoke and feeds it up into the flue — and it's one of the most overlooked fire-risk zones in the whole chimney. Its corbeled, stepped masonry makes perfect creosote traps, and a routine sweep aimed at the flue often passes straight over them. We clean it as a distinct, deliberate step, because creosote left on those ledges is fuel sitting directly above an open fire.

Cleaning this zone takes the right tools and approach, not merely a longer brush.
